Help Sharif's Mom and WSU Students

I am the mother of Sharif AliDinar, who was a Wayne State University (WSU) graduate and employee. Sharif served as a financial aid specialist, his mission in life was to serve God, as well as everyone that his life touched. Sharif was a diligent volunteer and advocate of anyone who was experiencing a challenging situation.

On January 8, 2025, Sharif was waiting at a WSU's campus curb for a green light to cross, when a man travelling 40 mph faster than the streets speed limit, decided to run a red light. The speeder struck another vehicle, then struck and killed Sharif instantly. CBS News aired an update on January 15, 2025; https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/driver-crash-killed-wayne-state-employee-was-40-mph-over-speed-limit

Although this experience has left a permanent hole in my heart, WSU's President, Dr. Kimberly Espy, WSU's Chief of Police, Anthony Holt; Daisy Cordero, VP Student Affairs; directors, staff and students were phenomenally supportive. The Wayne State family gathered in overwhelming numbers to show their love and support for Sharif at his funeral. Sharif's obituary can be found:

I know that Sharif would wish to have others continue his mission. As Sharif's retired mother, I know that he would have wanted donations established for me, as well as Wayne State University's students undergoing hardships and emergence situations.

Sharif was a fan of Spock on Star Trek; in honor of Spoke, Sharif would say: "Live life in service to God and others before it is your time to beam up"
