We’re reaching out to ask for your support in helping my twin sister, Shari Comstock, attend a transformative Functional & Integrative Medicine Residential Program. This program offers her a chance to receive personalized care for her debilitating symptoms caused by ME/CFS and major depression.

Why Shari Needs Your Help:

Shari was once a vibrant force of nature—teaching yoga, playing roller derby, and working as an in-patient mental health therapist. But everything changed in April 2017 when she developed a head cold that spiraled into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), commonly known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) or ME/CFS. This complex illness impacts 15-30 million people worldwide, causing extreme fatigue, cognitive deficits, and debilitating pain. This illness is a result of dysregulation and dysfunction of the neurological, immune, endocrine and energy metabolism systems.

Despite her determination to reclaim her life, Shari has faced a long and challenging journey. After years of seeing countless specialists, she finally received her ME/CFS diagnosis from a specialist at Stanford. Although this was a relief, treatment options have been limited and experimental, leading to mounting medical bills and ongoing struggles.

A Glimmer of Hope:

In 2023, Shari discovered the Neuro-acupuncture Institute in New Mexico, which specializes in treating central nervous system disorders. After just five sessions, she experienced significant relief from many of her symptoms. However, this treatment was not able to address the systemic dysbiosis that had developed over the years, nor the core limiting beliefs that drove her habitual patterns of perfectionism and people pleasing. Therefore, her chronic symptoms gradually returned.

Recently, Shari has experienced several new health issues, including increased pain, dramatic blood pressure fluctuations, and heightened gut sensitivity. These symptoms, along with the stress caused by how her health affects both her and her loved ones, have made her realize the importance of seeking comprehensive medical assistance.

Now, the Functional & Integrative Medicine Residential Program is her best chance yet for a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan. This program will analyze over 100 biomarkers to identify infections, inflammation, and imbalances. With this knowledge, the team will create a tailored plan for Shari focused on diet, daily habits, and positive mindset shifts.
