On the morning of October 7, 2021, Brandon Hawkins passed away and met his Heavenly Father. It was very sudden and our hearts are broken. He had just turned 38 years old last week and now his mom has to make arrangements for her youngest child, her baby boy, while still recovering from Covid.
So let’s start with Brandon’s life changing testimony. He started doing drugs years ago. In beginning of 2017, he ended up having a stroke which paralyzed his left side. He had to have immediate open heart surgery and receive a pace maker. He eventually regained most of his mobility back through physical therapy. Through it all, he truly gave his life to Christ, grew in his relationship with God and started attending Bethany Church. So we believe God gave him this second chance to get right with Him and we have a Peace knowing He is now in a better place, pain free and totally set free from things of this world.
So this past Sunday, October 3rd, my grandma had to bring him to the hospital for having severe stomach pains but since he had Covid, it’s like they dismissed the symptoms and sent him home saying he was extremely dehydrated. Brandon woke up Thursday morning, coughing up dry blood and then stopped breathing. Just in a matter of minutes. The coroner was so appalled and said he should still be here. The hospital should have caught that he had a GI- Internal Bleed.
All who loved him, knew he had a quiet demeanor/ Spirit. His life wasn’t easy but he still had such an inner strength that kept him persevering. He loved sports especially watching LSU and he loved to pick. He didn’t always have much to say but when he did, it was honest and from the heart.
With all this being said, we would appreciate most importantly your prayers for Mawmaw Marchita and the family. Also, that we all take time to examine our own hearts and life, knowing that we aren’t promised tomorrow. All the donations will be going to Marchita Hawkins to pay for Brandon’s Memorial- Celebration of Life expenses.
Thank you so much for your love and support.
