My name is Mona Bode, also known as Auntie Mona, and I am passionate about writing children’s books that spark imagination, build literacy, and celebrate the richness of our communities. I have written about 14 books so far for children ages 3-8 and a few for 10-13 yr olds each designed to empower, uplift, and bring joy to young readers. My stories focus on themes like kindness, imagination, learning, and cultural pride, offering children characters and experiences they can truly relate to.
I am seeking support to purchase my books in bulk so I can distribute them to children who need them most and sell some at pop up shops. While I am still finalizing the best way to get these books into the hands of kids—whether through schools, libraries, community groups, or direct sales—my mission is clear: to promote literacy in underserved areas and ensure every child has access to stories that reflect their lives. Your support will help cover the costs of printing and distributing these books, making it possible for more children to experience the magic of seeing themselves on the page.
By contributing, you are not only helping to put books in children’s hands, but also supporting a Black woman author dedicated to making a difference. Together, we can turn pages and change lives, one story at a time.
