Help Dr. Sharaf & his Family To Evacuate From Gaza

Donation protected
Please help support a Gazan doctor in completing his medical specialty and leaving Gaza with his 5 family members.

My name is Sharon Blume from Grass Valley, CA, USA. I am organizing this fundraiser for Sharaf & his family.

The Alsarafandi Family members are from Rafah & Khan Younis in Gaza. They include Sharaf, his mother Kholoud, his brother Moad, his brother Yousef, his sister in law Heba & their 7 month baby Wateen.

I'm Sharaf Alsarafandi, a graduate from Alexandria University specializing in general medicine. Currently, my family and I reside in the Gaza Strip, where we once led a normal life. I was completing my internship at Al-Shifa Hospital, my older brother was on the verge of starting his new business—a bee farm—and my younger brother was midway through his medical studies.

However, everything changed drastically since October 7th. Al-Shifa Hospital, where I was gaining invaluable experience, was bombed, halting all operations. Additionally, our hopes for my brother's new business were shattered as it became a target for repeated bombings. To make matters worse, our family home suffered severe damage due to direct and nearby airstrikes. Since the onset of the aggression, we've been displaced four times, finally settling in a tent in Khan Younis.

The situation has only worsened. The constant threat of bombings and gunfire poses a grave danger to civilians, and the healthcare system is in a state of complete collapse. The toll on my mental health is undeniable. Due to the aggression in Rafah, the Kuwait Specialized Hospital there has been rendered non-operational. I have since moved to the Kuwaiti Field Hospital in Muwasi, Khan Younis.

Due to the inhumane conditions of no clean water, no food, no clothes, no hygiene products, no medical accessories, and the bitter cold, we are in extreme fear for our baby niece Wateen, a 7-month-old angel born in the middle of bombing and shelling, and for our mother who suffers from multiple chronic diseases such as hypertension and spinal stenosis.

To save our lives and the life of baby Wateen, we have decided to leave the area temporarily until the end of the aggression. I have secured a position at John Radcliffe Hospital, one of Oxford University's hospitals, to have an elective course in emergency medicine, and the rest of my family is applying to Australia in the hope of finding a way out. However, the existing financial issues and the ongoing war on Gaza have made things worse, as we should cover the expenses of leaving the Strip, which costs almost $5,000 for each adult, and we should cover the expenses of having a place to live for a short time until things get more organized.

Your assistance in helping us evacuate and ensure the safety of my family would be immensely appreciated
