My name is Shanya Jeffers.
I'm 22 years old, living in Birmingham, UK.

A year has gone by and unfortunately I am yet to receive a diagnosis as to what is causing pain, burning and tingling which began in my feet. In the last 8 months, my symptoms have become progressively worse and has travelled to my hands. I experience generalised pain across my whole body which includes sudden weakness, migraines and difficulty in carrying out simple everyday tasks. Currently, as I am under the NHS, the neurologists suspect my symptoms are secondary to small fibre neuropathy however a face to face consultation and further tests will be needed to confirm this and with the NHS being under a lot of pressure, this means many more months of waiting.

After a year of daily pain and waiting for answers, I have the option of being seen by a private consultant as soon as next week. Therefore, I am trying to raise the funds as soon as possible through this page and fundraising. This initial £250 will help me have a private initial consultation with a neurologist at the Spire Hospital. This will help me receive a diagnosis much sooner and hopefully start treatment.
