My name is Shannon, and I’m raising funds to help my family—myself, my three daughters (Jordan, Kaitlynn, and Minna), my son Jeremy and my granddaughter Karli, during a very difficult time.

Due to a permanent medical condition I have, I'm on 3 different controlled substance prescriptions to maintain the condition/pain I have. Since being divorced, I'm on state Medicaid for insurance and in March, I had to start seeing a different provider because of the insurance change. The new provider also decided to change my prescriptions and the dosages. There was huge issue getting them filled at the pharmacy and even getting them approved by Medicaid. Because of this chaos, I went without my meds and was hospitalized twice now for intense withdrawal symptoms. Due to the hospitalizations, I couldn't work. This put me behind on my rent and utilities. I am currently trying to find a second job to help, but have been unsuccessful.

My daughters: Jordan lives with a neuromuscular disease, and Kaitlynn is disabled with Autism. Minna was a college student, but she left school to help support us after my now ex husband abandoned our family over a year ago. Since then, she’s been working as much as possible to help pay the bills and keep us afloat, but she lost her job in April and has been trying to find work ever since. Everything keeps turning for the worse.

My son, Jeremy, has been unsuccessful at finding work, too.

Recently, things have become even more challenging. I also suffer from Bilateral Small Fiber Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet, which makes working difficult. I'm working part time at Walmart, but it's not enough. To try to make ends meet, we’ve been selling off what we can around the house, but it hasn’t been enough to cover our basic needs. I'm swallowing my pride and begging for help here, on GoFundMe. This came out of nowhere. It's just me, my children and granddaughter. We are in desperate need of help. I can provide proof of the situation as needed. Just ask for it.
