Hello everyone! For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Shannon Page and I’m asking for your help.

The day after Thanksgiving 2025, I took a terrible fall while visiting family for the holiday in Avondale, AZ, which is about 160 miles from my home. I broke my femur in 3 places, my hip, my tailbone, and fractured my left foot. Since the accident, I’ve been staying with my son because I’m unable to get up stairs, which my home has. I’m in need of physical therapy, which is why I’m here, asking for help. I’ve been successful with the walker and have recently been trying the cane out. That’s been a little trickier, but hey, it’s progress!

Apparently, I need to learn how to bend my knee again. This new “hardware” (that’s what I call it ) isn’t cutting me any slack! According to my surgeon, I will only get that from physical therapy. The problem, of course, is insurance. I’ve inquired about payment plans, care credit, state insurance (which we don’t qualify for), credit increases on credit cards with absolutely no luck. I’ve exhausted every avenue I can think of. This truly was my very last option. I’m not one to openly share my struggles outside of my closest family and friends. It may have something to do with stubborn pride too!

I’m asking for help to be able to walk properly again. I currently have the umpalumpa shuffle down pat! Just throw me in a purple suit and let Willy Wonka know I’m on my way for the sequel! (Thankfully, I still have my humor intact!)

Physical therapy is a minimum of 6 weeks. I’d very much like to get started so I can A) walk right and B) get back home to my husband.
