Meet Shannon, a proud Mother of three amazing young boys! She is a beautiful person with a very kind soul. At only 44 years of age, Shannon is going through a third reoccurrance and third chemotherapy only within the last two years. She is a very determined & strong woman who needs our help, love and support.

This fundraiser is to help Shannon stay alive & healthy. This will help for an alternative treatment that is not covered and costs thousands and thousands of dollars. Shannon's wish is to see her boys grow up and grow old with her loving husband by her side.

Shannon's story

Shannon was diagnosed in September 2020 with stage 4 high grade carcinoma Ovarian cancer.

She was also recently given genetic testing where she found out she was BARAC1 Positive which means that she also carries the gene mutation for breast cancer and now has over 80% chance of developing that as well, on top of her other diagnosis. 

She underwent the first round of chemo which included six sessions and a complete hysterectomy and scraping of her insides to remove tumours that were spread everywhere. She went on maintenance drugs for almost a year. She was prescribed a parp-inhibitor which is supposed to stop the formation of cancer cells but it did not work, and she went back to chemo again. That sixth session lasted till July 21, 2022. Not even six months later she was back in Chemotherapy fighting again for her life. 

She was told recently that the time between recurrence (cancer coming back) and ending chemo shortens which is not a good sign. She is currently on a certain type of chemo. If this treatment fails, they said as a 'last resort' she would be eligible for another kind of chemo, but it does not have a very high rate of success.

However, there is one more

experimental treatment that she could try that is promising. But it is not covered. This is where we need your help.
