Help Shannon Fight Cancer’s Aftermath and Save His Sight

Story:

This past year has brought me to my knees. I lost my job, battled cancer, and now I face losing my eyesight. I’ve fought hard to stay strong, but I need help to make it through.

Job Loss

I was laid off in December after 25 years in healthcare compensation. Despite applying to hundreds of jobs, the industry has frozen, and opportunities outside healthcare are rare without direct industry experience.

Cancer Battle

In July, I had surgery to remove cancer under my tongue. For months, I lived with the fear of losing my ability to speak or eat normally. Thankfully, I still have my tongue and my voice — but the financial toll of treatment was crushing.

Eye Disease

I have a hereditary eye condition. After 28 years of flare-ups, I lost all vision in my right eye. Last month, it struck my only good eye. Steroids may hold it back, but the only proven treatment is IVIG therapy — $5,000 per infusion, with 4–5 infusions needed. Insurance will not cover it. Without this, another relapse could mean permanent blindness.
