My name is Sharia, and I’m one of Shannon’s four children.
On Thursday, 4 December, our dad lost his home of 23 years to a sudden electrical fire in the ceiling. In a matter of minutes, everything he had worked his whole life to build was gone.
Just recently, Dad had proudly paid off the loan on his house a moment that was supposed to mark security, stability, and the start of enjoying the life he’d worked so hard for.
Instead, that happiness has turned into heartbreak.
For the past three days, Shannon has been sifting through the rubble, searching for anything he can salvage from the ashes. The only things he’s been able to find are a few precious photos and items belonging to his children. While pieces of our childhood survived, nothing of his did.
His treasured Speedway trophies, symbols of years of dedication, passion and achievement are gone forever. Speedway was a massive part of his life, between himself and his father we spent most of our childhood at the horsham speedways
With his insurance having unfortunately lapsed, Dad now faces the overwhelming reality of having to start again with nothing. We’re hoping to raise funds to help him rebuild, regain some sense of normality, and take the first steps toward a new beginning.
Any donation, no matter the size, would mean more than words can say. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and for helping our dad during the hardest time of his life.
