Shannon Johnson has been homeless for several years, and her family has been searching for her during that time. Thankfully, she was recently found—but her situation is urgent.
Due to serious medical issues, Shannon is now wheelchair-bound and unable to walk. She has been approved for insurance, but coverage does not begin until September 1st. In the meantime, she needs support to cover medical expenses, housing, and basic necessities to keep her safe and stable.
We currently have Shannon placed in a halfway house, which provides a temporary safe environment. However, the weekly rent is $175, and food is not included. We are trying to raise enough funds to keep her housed until her insurance begins and she can transition to a rehabilitation facility—where she’ll receive the care she needs and hopefully begin the journey to walking again.
There are very few family members left to support Shannon, and we’re doing everything we can to help her through this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world.
Please also feel free to reach out with words of encouragement or support to let Shannon know she is loved, valued, and not alone.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
