Shannon Jay has always been hands on when it comes to animal rescue. He has gone into wildfire war zones, rescuing cats and taking some of the workload from the overwhelmed county shelters there. He has searched for owners, scanned microchips, and provided food, shelter, and medical care for these animals—all at his own expense. Over the years, Shannon has reunited countless cats with their families and given a second chance to those who had nowhere else to go. He is presently caring for 17 cats in his own home, each with their own story of survival and hope.

Recently, a streak of bad luck has caused Shannon to be in danger of losing his living situation. The high cost of living in California, combined with unexpected challenges, means that Shannon and his 17 cats could soon be without a safe place to call home. Folks, we can't let that happen to Shannon. He has given so much to animals and people, always putting their needs before his own.
