Laura and I are creating this Go Fund Me to benefit our amazing warrior mom sister, Shannon. Shannon has two beautiful daughters. One of them, Joy, suffers from Autism. Shannon is the full time caregiver for her beautiful Joy Joy and is now in actual danger of losing her life.

I've been watching Shannon struggle with major health issues over the past decade. Doctors have truly been baffled by her case and every year I've watched her get worse and worse. She has had auto immune diseases most of her life, but things turned really bad in 2014 when, after an MRI, they found an aneurysm and MS streaks in her brain. To date, she has had 5 brain surgeries (and now has coils and stents in her brain). She has been in constant pain for years. Then they told her she needed her gallbladder removed. Since that time she has been dealing with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This turned into stage 4 fibrosis, followed by cirrhosis. This is just literally ONE of many things she is dealing with.

The bottom line is she keeps getting worse and worse and doctors don't know what is wrong with her. She was recently at Stanford and they were baffled. The doctors there believe it is some type of cancer but want to send her to the Mayo clinic where they hope she can get some answers, before it's too late.

The worst part of all of this is Shannon and her family cannot afford any of the treatments, or medication, unless it's covered by Medicaid. And of course, going to the Mayo clinic to see a specialist, isn't covered. So Shannon is at the point of just waiting for her body to completely shut down. At this point, she is almost ready to surrender to the inevitable, except for her Joy Joy. She knows Joy needs her to make it through. And for that, she is trying to fight for the strength to survive.

When Laura and I realized how bad the financial situation was, and how little time Shannon could actually have, we realized we had to do something. We are asking for anything anyone is willing to give. Even if every person we knew, could donate even $10 each, maybe we could get Shannon to the Mayo clinic to be evaluated, tested, diagnosed and put on a treatment that can stop the freight train of issues that are ravaging Shannon's poor body.
