Hi everyone my name is Kas as many of you know my girlfriend Shannon has been battling a brain tumor for some time now. Shannon Was diagnosed with a brain tumor and it's non cancerous but it's inoperable and she is going through chemo and radiation to try and shrink the tumor so they can put a shunt in. Shannon has been having lots of seizures with the amount of pressure that is pressing on her brain stem. She losing basic motor skills and often has a hard time putting complete sentences together. We are hoping that the stent will work if it doesn't she will lose all her motor skills and the ability to talk and her body will start shutting down. She has already decided that if the stent doesn't work that she will stop any other treatment from there. Her doctors sent her case to hospitals all over the United States and to other countries and no one is willing to touch it. They say she will have a 20% chance of making it through the surgery. Our only option now is trying to shrink the tumor and hope that the stent will be effective. During all this her job has taken a back seat leaving us in a financial nightmare. It's sad how there is no help for people who suffer from life altering events. We are torn all the way around. She tries to keep working trying to keep her head above water but the truth is we are drowning. If she pushes herself too much she is having multiple seizures a day. Some seizures are more intense than others. Her medication is crazy expensive between taking 12 different prescriptions a day and trying to get around to her appointments is easily $1100 a month before we even pay any other bill. She has been trying to cut her medicine in half to stretch it out longer, but by doing that she is declining more and more each day. She is physically in constant pain, but mentally exhausted. Now that Shannon is sick we see things differently and things that we used to think were important are not so much anymore. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read our story.
