Upon rushing Shanna to the emergency room, I learned about her medical condition named intussusception. Surgery followed the next day. Unfortunately the surgeon, Dr. Felsher, found a tumorous "mass" half the size of a golf ball that was removed and biopsied.
Recovery was 5 days in the hospital after having 2 ft. of her large intestine and 6 inches of her small intestine removed. Her appendix was removed as well.
Unfortunately a few days later after returning home, she was readmitted to the hospital for 3 more days due to an infection in the incision area. While in the hospital we learned the outcome of her pathology results. The love of my life has colon cancer. Two of eighteen lymph nodes in the colon area are cancerous. Stage 3.
Shanna is uninsured and we desperately need your donation to help us pay for medical expenses she has already incurred from the hospital ER services, the hospital stay, two CAT scans, anesthesiologist, and major surgery. Upcoming expenses also include a PET scan and six months of very expensive chemotherapy and blood tests.
It is unlikely she will be able to go back to work right away, so your donations will not only help her offset a portion of her medical expenses but also help cover basic necessities such as food, rent, utilities, etc. for her and her two kids during the time she is out of work as she fights this battle.
