Over the past three years, Shanna and her husband, Scott, have worked tirelessly to build beloved local businesses Big Dog Eats and Choo Choos Cheesecakes in the Milford community.

These small family businesses have quickly become local favorites. Their fresh bagels, sandwiches, and homemade cheesecakes have earned an incredibly loyal following, with customers traveling from surrounding towns just to grab breakfast, lunch, or one of their famous desserts. Ask almost anyone who has visited, and they’ll tell you the same thing — the food is amazing, but the people behind it are even better.

Whether it’s remembering customers by name, supporting local events, helping neighbors in need, or simply creating a welcoming place for the community to gather, Shanna and Scott have always poured their hearts into everything they do.

Recently, life took an unexpected turn.

What was expected to be a short recovery after a routine surgery for Shanna has instead become a long and challenging journey due to multiple complications. She is making progress and is thankfully on the mend, but she still has a long road ahead and needs time to heal before she can return to the businesses and community she loves so much.

As small business owners, time away from work creates an enormous financial strain. Between mounting medical expenses, lost income, and the challenge of keeping their businesses running during this difficult time, the stress has become overwhelming.

This fundraiser aims to help ease some of that burden so Shanna can focus fully on healing without the constant worry of finances and business pressures.
