Help Shanika Rebuild After the Flood's Impact

My name is Shanika Everett, and I am currently employed at Amira Choice, a senior living facility dedicated to providing care and support to our elderly residents. On the evening of the storm, I was on duty, fully committed to ensuring that all residents received their meals and were taken care of during the inclement weather. It was a challenging night, but my focus was on the well-being of those in our care.
The following day, after the storm had passed, I received a devastating phone call that would change my life. I learned that all of my personal belongings had been completely destroyed by the floodwaters that had surged into my apartment. This included not only essential items like food and clothing but also furniture, cherished photographs, my television, and various electronic devices that held sentimental value.
Despite having renter's insurance, I discovered that my policy does not cover losses resulting from flooding, which left me feeling even more vulnerable and overwhelmed. The floodwaters in my apartment reached an astonishing four to five feet, leading to the total destruction of everything I owned.
As I assess the situation, I estimate my total losses to be between $15,000 and $20,000. This figure encompasses the cost of replacing my belongings, as well as the emotional toll of losing irreplaceable items that held memories and significance in my life. The aftermath of this disaster has been incredibly challenging, and I am now faced with the daunting task of rebuilding my life from the ground up.
Your contribution, no matter how small, will help me rebuild my life while working full-time to support elderly residents. Thank you, Shanika
