About me

My name is Shanice Toussaint, and I was born and raised in the Bahamas. I am the first in my immediate family to have had the opportunity to attend university. In May 2019, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in chemistry.

I am a second-year medical student, attending the American University of Antigua School of Medicine. By God's grace, faith and hard work I have made it thus far.

As an international student, I am unable to qualify for any form of student loan or private loan. I have explored many options, and in doing my research have found a loan that will only be available to me in my last two years of medical school. As a result, I am seeking assistance to cover my tuition for the remainder of the semester and next semester.

I have applied for numerous scholarships, that only cover so much. I have tried exploring the option of a job over in Antigua. However, I was told that I am unable to be a student and work on the island. However, I will continue to seek out ways that will help me on this journey. I have fully supported myself thus far and have completely exhausted my savings.

I don't want to relinquish a dream, I have sacrificed everything for, without giving it my all and trying every avenue that I can. Therefore, I am seeking your assistance once again to help me cover the remainder of my out-of-pocket tuition cost.

The amount I am requesting only covers tuition. I am a firm believer that who God keeps is well kept. Having my tuition covered, will alleviate some of the financial burden I am faced with.

My prayer is that my boldness to seek help is a reflection of my passion for wanting to become a physician.

I have asked for an extension on the dates. The following semester would equate to the same amount.
