A few weeks before Christmas, I was admitted to Ormond Beach Hospital. After a week of tests, I learned I needed surgery on the same leg that already has titanium from a previous accident. During Christmas, doctors discovered a serious blood infection. Now, as New Year's has passed, I'm still in the hospital fighting this infection. The situation has become more complicated, and I may need another PICC line to deliver antibiotics straight to my heart for six weeks while I undergo inpatient therapy and rehab.

This all started nine years ago when I was hit by a car going 65 mph while crossing A1A in a crosswalk. I was airlifted to Halifax Trauma, died four times, and underwent 13 surgeries with over a million dollars in titanium and medical bills. The titanium in my leg became infected, so last week, doctors had to go in and scrape and flush out the bacteria. It’s been a long, painful journey, and I’m still here in Room 1027 on the 10th floor infection unit, hoping for better days.

The funds from this fundraiser will help me cover medical bills, living expenses, utilities, vehicle payments, insurance, and food while I recover and am unable to work.
