Help Shane on the road to getting home

Hi, my name is Yvette and I am fundraising for my amazing husband Shane. Our family’s lives got flipped upside down on April 29, 2022 when Shane suffered a spinal stroke and was left paralyzed as a result. We now know that it is the rarest form of stroke an otherwise healthy individual can have with only 1% of all strokes being a spinal stroke. Originally, Shane had some limited mobility in his arms but 3 days later on May 2nd Shane suffered a second spinal stroke limiting him further. To date we do not know the cause of the strokes. He is being treated by the top doctors in Boston and is currently at spinal rehab to help him learn to adapt in a new world and get home to his family and some semblance of his normal life. Shane’s arms are definitely making small improvements and his journey at rehab will help him continue to make progress. At this time while he strengthens his limited arm mobility Shane will be in a motorized wheelchair for the foreseeable future. This fundraiser is to help with the medical costs for equipment he will need going forward that isn’t covered by insurance and to make major renovations to our house to be wheelchair accessible. We have been asked by so many family & friends how they can help hence setting up this go fund me. This journey is just beginning for our family of six and will be a big adjustment but with the love and support of our family, friends and amazing circle we will certainly persevere.
