Help Shane Joyner and family

This is my brother in law, Shane Joyner (known as Squirrel to many). He has been a Firefighter/First Responder for  22  years.  He has served 17 years as a Firefighter with CPD and 6 as Captain. he has deployed with SCTF1, during Hurricane Sandy and on RRT5 which is search and rescue. He is also Swift Water Rescue. He will never be able to return to what he loves. 
     On March 22nd, 2016 he was injured in a fire. A ceiling collapsed on his head. The sheetrock and insulation were wet from putting out the fire, and it fell on his head, blowing out 5 discs.  He has had full disc replacement at C3 and C4, and a lamenectomy at C5, C6 and C7 and will possibly have to undergo 2 more surgeries before he is 60.  He has many limitations that keep him from going back to his job. He cannot wear his air pack, helmet, any of his gear, and no lifting over 20 lbs. 
   Also, he and my sister are raising their grandchildren (12, 9, and 6) . They had a home built just over a year ago. They are getting very behind on bills. Retirement is going to happen eventually, but the city has not "made the decision" yet. They need help getting through this tough time. They don't even qualify for free lunch for the grandchildren (because of his previous year's income) Worker's compensation is denying him, but Shane is appealing. Elaine works as much as she can to get the staples for the household.  He does beautiful leatherwork, but I believe he is limited at that as well because of the upper body work that goes into it.
  I ask that, even if it is only 1 dollar, can we please help them out? He has saved so many lives, taken care of so many communities... Can we help him in his time of need?  Thank you in advance.
