Hi I'm Shane,

Some of you know me as a friend or family and some of you know me from the band Cinemartyr. I'm embarrassed, ashamed and I feel downright weird doing this, but I need to ask for help. I had a health crisis back in September that landed me in the ER, with a hefty bill and a long road to recovery ahead of me.

After a recent discussion with my wife Corinne and my doctor, we decided that I need to take some time off work. One day less to be exact, for the next three months, so I have more time to rest and recuperate.

My sleep has been a real problem since the initial event, with me often getting very little sleep at night. My mood (I have clinical depression and general anxiety disorder) has taking a real hit and is very slow to return to normal. All in all, it's been a truly horrible and testing time. Some of the hardest days I've ever lived.

I'm going to one-on-one therapy, attending support groups and taking a new medication regimen but progress is slow. After using up all my PTO and Sick Leave, I went back to work last week, to my old schedule for the first time since September and I just cannot hack it. So I need to work less for a two to the three months so I can properly recover.

The amount I have set this fundraiser at covers some extra time off for three months and would allow me to keep paying bills and keep eating etc. It would also help to enormously reduce the burden of stress on both myself and Corinne and keep us afloat during this rough winter.

No matter how small or big your donation it will go a long, long way. I desperately want to get back to making music, to being around friends again and to do all the things I used to take for granted.
