Last night our lives changed in an instant. Our son, Shane, was in a serious car accident, and the call we received late that night is one no parent is ever prepared for. By the grace of God he is still here with us, and we are holding onto that with everything we have. The others involved are safe as well, and for that we are so thankful.
Shane was badly hurt. His head went through the windshield, and he needed close to 100 stitches in his face. He also suffered a broken hip/pelvis and is undergoing surgery. He is in a lot of pain and has a long, difficult road of healing ahead of him. Doctors are telling us his recovery could take up to six months, and during that time he will not be able to work.
If you know Shane, you know his heart. He is one of the most loyal, kind, and selfless people you could meet. He loves his friends deeply and is always the one showing up when someone needs help. Whether it’s lending a hand, fixing something, or just being there, he never hesitates. He loves fishing, being outdoors, and working hard. He’s the kind of person everyone loves to be around — and the last person who would ever ask for help for himself. That’s why we are asking for him.
Shane does not have medical insurance, and the financial impact of this accident is overwhelming. We are facing hospital and surgical bills, follow-up care, rehabilitation, and everyday living expenses while he is unable to earn an income. His vehicle was also totaled, and once he is healed enough to return to work, he will need reliable transportation again. His job does not offer benefits that would carry him through a situation like this.
As his parents, all we want is for him to focus on healing — not on how these bills will be paid. Any donation, no matter how small, will help lift an incredible weight off his shoulders during the hardest time of his life. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping him in your thoughts and prayers means more than you know.
From two grateful and worried parents, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our son. We know this is a large goal, but his injuries, surgery, recovery time, and loss of income make the financial impact overwhelming. Any amount helps more than we can say. ❤️
Sincerely,
Shane’s Mom & Dad
