Hello friends and family. As many of you know, my name is Shandra and I am 48. I have battled Lupus for nearly 30 years and right now I am facing some tough challenges. I was diagnosed with multiple organ failure and am about to start the fight of my life. I have worked hard for the past 30 years to not let my lupus be a disability, and I still believe that with great medical care and every ounce of fight I have in me, I can come back from this and regain a happy and healthier life.

I am going to be applying for disability and will be going on short-term disability from my work for the immediate future, but as most of you know, there is a waiting period before those benefits kick in. Unfortunately, I have had a lot of missed days due to illness over the past year and have used up all my vacation and sick time. I am asking for just a little help to get us through till my short-term disability payments start coming in.

We are so grateful to everyone who has always loved and supported us through our what feels like never-ending health issues over the past few years. This is just a bump in the road. I have the best family and I have so many people willing to pray for me. I know that God has the most wonderful plan for my life. Thank you to everyone who has helped us in the past and who continues to support us.
