Shamya has always been determined to reach her goals, and this year she’s about to achieve something truly special. She worked hard to earn a four-year academic scholarship to NYU, and is the first out of her six siblings to earn a college degree this coming May. Throughout her time at NYU, Shamya balanced her studies with part-time work, making sure to stay financially responsible and focused on her education. With the help of scholarships and her own dedication, she’s been able to maintain her finances, but graduation brings new expenses that are outside of her budget.

There are several graduation fees and costs that Shamya needs help paying, including her cap and gown, graduation photos, moving expenses, living expenses, food, and tuition fees for summer classes not covered by her scholarship. As she prepares to take the next step into her career, we would love to give her a great start to her future without having to worry about finances for a little while.
