On Wednesday, June 12 at 11:30pm a drunk driver slammed into Shameeka Griffin and Cooley Johnson’s home. These two have been best friends for over 20 years. They have lived in this home for 13 years and been wonderful neighbors. Sadly, since they do not have renter’s insurance and the home has been condemned, they are now homeless. They are in need of community support.
The Red Cross will be assisting them for a few days, however, after they will be on their own after that. Moments after the accident it began to rain ruining their personal belongings. Shameeka had been saving for double knee replacement surgery. And Coolie has Parkinson’s Disease and Epilepsy. Coolie was thrown across the room against the wall and spent the night in the hospital.Both are heartbroken to have to leave the neighborhood they love.
