My daughter Shamay is only 23 years old , full of life, love, and dreams. She graduated high school at just 16 and has been working hard ever since, building her modeling career and raising her beautiful 4-year-old son, who is autistic and truly her whole world.
Shamay has always had the biggest heart. She’s kind, giving, and always wants to see the good in people. Sadly, that same kindness led her into a relationship that turned abusive and ultimately changed her life forever. Earlier this year, she began a relationship with a man named Joshua Woodruff. Things started off fine but quickly took a dark and violent turn. Shamay tried to leave the relationship in June, but because of her caring nature, she still checked on him after he was incarcerated. When he was released, she continued to show concern, but when he realized she had truly moved on, his behavior became terrifying. He called her obsessively , over 50 different numbers , refusing to let her go. Despite everything, Shamay only wanted peace and closure. On Sunday, November 2nd, he ambushed her in an act of unthinkable violence. He shot my daughter 10 times with a AR rifle that had an internal switch and was loaded with 762 AAC black out round ammunition then kidnapped & drove her around for two hours while she was fighting for her life. He threw her phones out the car and made calls trying to figure out where to dispose of her body. She tried jumping out the car on the highway but couldn’t due to all the broken bones, he constantly threatened to shoot her in the head. Through it all, my baby begged for her life and by the grace of God, she survived. Shamay has undergone multiple surgeries and faces a long, difficult recovery ahead. But if you know her, you know she is a fighter. She is determined to heal, to be there for her son, and to get justice for what was done to her.
We are raising funds to help with:
• Medical expenses from multiple surgeries and ongoing treatment
• Rehabilitation and therapy as she recovers physically and emotionally
• Care and stability for her young son during this difficult time
• Legal and court costs as we fight for justice
Our family is holding onto faith and gratitude. Thankful that Shamay is still here with us, and praying for her strength and healing every day.
Please consider donating, sharing, or simply keeping Shamay and her little boy in your prayers. Every act of kindness means the world to us.
From a mother’s heart, thank you for helping my daughter fight her way back to life.
