Shakuurat is an amazing young woman who has inspired those around her with her strength and resilience. Growing up as the third child of six, Shakuurat worked hard to support her family, paying her siblings' school fees and upkeep. Her passion for science and teaching drove her to pursue a degree in science, which she remarkably started while undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer which was unexpectedly diagnosed in early 2019. Despite the immense challenges, she battled the disease with courage, undergoing chemo, surgery, and radiotherapy. Yet, she persevered and achieved a remarkable feat – graduating with a first-class degree in science.
As an exceptional educator, Shakuurat loves inspiring her students with her dedication and passion. However, the treatments of the breast cancer have caused her to face a life changing disorder: both her hips are deteriorating, causing constant physical pain making it impossible her to move. If left untreated imminently, this condition will cause her to be paralysed, and wheelchair bound.
Shakuurat must undergo double hip replacement surgery immediately to alleviate this pain and save her mobility. The cost is £12,000 per hip, totalling £24,000.
We are reaching out to the world for support. Your contribution will help Shakuurat return to her normal self, teaching and inspiring those around her.
