Help Shake&Pop Bring Modern Stories to Life
Donation protected
Shake&Pop’s mission is to use the magic of Shakespeare's language to tell modern stories that reflect the world around us, with all its beauty, pain, silliness, and imperfection.
We celebrate the different, the “flawed,” and the downtrodden. Our inaugural production of Hamlet will highlight the madness of addiction. Addiction to substance, screens, love, and power. Every life is touched by addiction; if it has not touched your life directly, you know someone who carries with them this burden, this madness. The script has been carefully edited by Isabella Buckner, a recovering alcoholic, to tell this personal story. Hamlet is directed by Veronica Everett, a recovering alcoholic who believes telling our stories will help those still struggling. The disease of addiction has run in our families for generations, and we break the cycle by speaking about it with honesty, love, humor, and poetry.
All journeys, adventures, and creative endeavors require support, and we are asking you to give whatever you can to help us tell our story—Hamlet as you have never seen it before!
Your help will go towards costumes, props, and paying actors, and working on updating our status to non-profit.
Thank you so much for your support, and we will see you in December!
