Shaira is a sweet and kind 9-year-old student who has always brought joy to those around her. She lives with her loving family, including her 7-year-old brother and baby sister, who is just 1 year old. Their lives changed in an instant when, on a Friday night, their home caught on fire while they were all sleeping. Thankfully, Shaira was with her mom at the time, and a caring neighbor was able to warn them in time. While everyone made it out safely, the family lost everything in the fire.

Right now, Shaira and her family are staying in a hotel room as they search for a temporary place to live. They are starting from scratch, needing clothing, furniture, and every single thing that makes a house a home. The loss has been overwhelming, but the family is grateful to be safe and together.
