Thursday March 25, 2021 Shae arrived at her traveling nurse assignment. She was due to spend the next 3 days with her patient in their home. She received report from the previous shift, and began her visit with her patient. A short time after arriving, Shae went to her car to gather her things to prepare for her stay at the patient's home. While at her car, that was parked in front of the patients home, a vehicle was driving towards her direction. Shae attempted to jump out of the way of the oncoming vehicle's path (she was on the sidewalk and so was the vehicle). She was struck by the vehicle and then rolled onto the hood of the car and then very quickly off the hood of the car that then drug her approximately 10 feet from her car before she was dislodged and left on the asphalt. A bystander and another nurse in the area ran to her assistance. The driver sped away. Shae was transported by ambulance to a local rural hospital that arranged for air lift to a higher acuity hospital that could provide Shae with the care she needed. She suffered injuries that she has had and will need surgeries and months of physical therapy to recover. She will be unable to work while she is healing. Shae is an amazing nurse who lives to care of her family and her patients. Please help us take care of Shae by donating money to help with her medical expenses, and personal bills while she is unable to work.Organizer and beneficiary
