Help Shadow Overcome Cancer and Thrive

Hello, my name is Shadow and I'm a six year old female brindle mastiff.

I know I look a little small for my breed but I had a rough start to my life.

I was born into a family that wasn't very much of a family to be honest. They already had several other big dogs and I was forced to spend all my time outside and chained up. I was required to fight for every scrap of food and every drop of water, which to be frank was not really enough to sustain me after the other dogs had finished. My owners were very mean people..... They were constantly yelling at and hitting me and the other dogs for no apparent reason. Fortunately the amazing family that lived across the street saw this and open their hearts and would come by almost daily when my owners were gone and feed and love on us.

If it wasn't for them I don't think I would have survived.

The other dogs and I tried escaping repeatedly but kept getting caught.... Even spent some time in the slammer but my owner always came and got me, probably the only loving thing they ever did.

By the time I was about 9 or 10 months old I had my first "girly time" and got knocked up by one of the other dogs. As luck would have it (the bad kind) I would turn out to be pregnant with 10 little hellions. I would never have survived the pregnancy if it wasn't for the family across the street, as it was I only weighed 20 lbs and I was pregnant with 10 pups!! At about a pound a pup that means I was only at 10lbs when I was pregnant.

My family decided to move a few weeks before I was due and decided they couldn't take me with but could take the other dogs..... Probably because they don't want to have to deal with my little ones. They were going to surrender me to the shelter but the family across the street stepped in and literally saved my life!!

They already had five dogs and still took me in knowing that I was going to give birth to another 10 filling their household with an unimaginable 16 dogs. The family gave me a loving warm and caring home to live in, they provided meals like I'd never eaten before, Not only was I allowed to be inside but they allowed me on the furniture and in the beds, they provided me with all the nutrition and vitamins I needed throughout my pregnancy and were there the day my pups were born watching eagerly and lovingly. They without question or complaining took on the rolling responsibility of helping me raise them till they were of age where they could find good homes. And has to be expected my family would not let my pups go to bad homes, they interviewed and inspected every single potential family and made sure that my kids only went to loving homes and if they weren't able to find a loving home then they took it upon themselves to keep my pups and just add them into their family. They ended up adopting three of my kiddos, two sisters and a brother. I'm an incredible loving and well-behaved dog, I would never even lift a paw to hurt a flea. At Just 4 years of age I received the terrible news that I was diagnosed with cancer and that is why I'm here today telling you my story and my family is begging for your help. The doctors tell my family and I will be $10,000 to $15,000 for the surgery to save my life and the surgery would allow me to live a full and loving life not to say that the last four years with my new family hasn't been incredible and there's no way I can think of enough but I'm only five and the doctor say I could have another good four or five years to be able to spend with his family and do everything in my power to repay him for what they've done for me. If my family was able to they would put up the money in a heartbeat no questions asked but unfortunately they have fallen on Hard Times and in addition to myself they're stepdad/ husband also has cancer and it's terminal.

So it is with a heavy heart and if it was possible I'd be on my knees asking for anyone and everyone with even the slightest bit of love in their heart to please help my family and me out and donate whatever you can to help me get the surgery and give my family another 5 years as incredible and loving as the last four that they have given me. In advance I would like to thank everyone and anyone who donates your love will forever be spread in this world as it's past forward.
