Help Shadow Heal After a Brutal Attack **On Behalf Of Kim Shack**
A week or so ago, our sweet Shadow was out for a walk when she was suddenly and viciously attacked by a pit bull. The injuries she sustained were unimaginable, half of her body was torn open, and she required over 100 stitches just to hold her together. The emergency surgery came with a heartbreaking vet bill of $2,300.
But the fight isn’t over yet.
Because her wounds were so deep and severe, Shadow’s stitches didn’t hold. There wasn’t enough skin to keep her body closed. Now, she urgently needs a second surgery to properly close her wounds and start healing, for real this time. The cost of this follow-up procedure is +$800 with additional hospital visits and potential surgeries being needed in the future, and we can’t move forward until the funds are raised.
Right now, Shadow is home in a cone and a cast, uncomfortable, in pain, and trying her best to stay strong. She’s doing everything she can to heal, but she needs help to make it to the finish line.
For my mom, this has been especially devastating.
After losing her own mother a few years ago, Shadow became more than a pet, she became her comfort, her companion, her emotional support through deep grief. Shadow has never left her side. She’s been there through every tear, every quiet night, every hard day. And now, she needs us to show up for her.
This is more than a medical bill. It’s a lifeline, for both Shadow and my mom.
My mom has always been the kind of person who drops everything to be there for others when they need her. Whether it’s family, friends, or even strangers, she gives without hesitation. But right now, she is the one who needs help.
If you feel moved to give, even a few dollars makes a difference. If you can’t donate, please share this page or send a prayer our way, it means more than you know.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2
Thank you for showing up in love and compassion. Let’s help Shadow get the healing she so desperately deserves.
