Help Shadow battle FIP

Donation protected

Hi everyone! My name is Pup Pup Kai, and this is my little brother Shadow. Or ShadowDactyl as some of my hoomanz call him.

He is one of the most gentle and sweet katz that there is. He is only 7 months old and is fading fast. He has FIP which is a fatal disease unless I can help raise the money for his treatments.

For those of you who don’t know what it is its a viral disease in cats caused by certain strains of a virus called Feline Coronavirus. Kinda like what you hear on the news now. It is a quite rare disease and is deadly for up to every 1 in 100 katz under the age of 3-5. Most cats affected by the virus don't show any symptoms and are usually fine, but for the unlucky few it could be fatal as the virus mutates. There is currently no pharmaceutical cure for this virus but there is an antiviral drug that goes by the name GS-441524 that has been thoroughly tested and results show that it can significantly help these cats and kittens affected by this virus…it is not cheap or easy to find.

Unfortunately, this isn’t something insurance or CareCredit will cover. The treatment has a 90% success rate, but it isn't FDA Approved…But Me, my kitty sisters; Cri Nos, and Olive, and my Hoomanz are determined to give Shadow the chance at life he deserves! He’s so little and young and fluffy. All funds will go to his vet bills and to the cost of the treatments. If there’s any extra, we will donate it to help other cats with FIP/FIP research! Will you please help us?

You see..he started his widdle life as a rescue for the little hooman boy. My hoomanz brought him home, and I wasn’t really sure at first, but after some time he came purring my way. Then he started acting funny. He didn’t want to eat, kept falling off things and was not to good on his feet. I thought it was just a case of the kittens, but it was more. The Hooman Doctor guy thought he hurt his back and he has to sleep in my big crate for a few weeks at night. He got better, but he wiggled when he walks.  The other Hooman Doctor guy did some blood tests and all I know is my Hoomanz came home crying and sad. I knew I had to spring into action. I nuzzled up best I could and rolled over for belly rubs, And here we are.

The past month he has gotten worse and I don’t even know what to do. His wobble is the effects of the neurological damage. He has something the hooman says is a heart murmur,  and he has an enlarged spleen and liver according to the hoomanz and some big machine they used. I just know they shaved his belly and he looks kinda funny, like me now. He deserves more time and to give love to all of those hoomanz who see him in all his fluffyness. He has the softest ears I like to bite on, and I think he likes it too, cause he keeps coming back for more. He leans on me for support…no, I mean literally. As he walks by, he looses his balance and leans up on me to stay standing. I gotten used to it, but I think it means he wants to play too. His widdle tormenting seester Olive is another rescue kitten my hoomanz got for Shadow to play with. She’s full of energy and spunk, and he tries so much to keep up and chase her. But sometimes he just plops down from being tired and plays that way. He deserves a fighting chance.

Now he will be facing terrible injection site sores, constant blood work, an MRI, and spinal tap. When my hoomanz talk about it, they start crying. So I know it must not be good. So anything you can help with and put towards my little brother, we all would love, appreciate, and pray for. Every little bit is appreciated and loved, even if it’s a dollar and some prayers!

All those who want to follow our journey are welcome to! I post updates on my Instagram page @PupPupKai and also the happenings on his life on his Instagram page @ShadowDactyl.
