Dear Friends, Family, and Mantis Enthusiasts!!

My name is Eric Leal, and I am the proud owner of SGV Mantis Feeder Supply LLC, a small business that started from one cage to an outdoor greenhouse space dedicated to breeding and raising multiple praying mantis species from around the world as pets and educational research specimens, as well as store supplies and cages.

I have maintained the animals to the best of my abilities, but a more controlled space is now needed to facilitate the ever-expanding list of mantis species I'm planning to work with in the future.

Over the past 5 years, we have been fortunate to serve our beloved customers and help build a vibrant community around our passion for praying mantis keeping, the local ecology of L.A. County cities, and how we can do our part for the conservation and preservation of the natural habitats some of these special mantids come from.

As our business has grown, so has our need for a more suitable space. Currently, we are operating in a 10ft×5ft outdoor greenhouse.

Thankfully, it survived the recent Santa Ana winds we had and did not fly away... but the temperature control is not easy, and I have lost many mantids due to high heat spikes in the summer months.

While we have made the most of our current location, we have reached a point where we can no longer efficiently serve our customers or fulfill our mission in this setting.

To continue to provide our community with the best possible products and services, we are excited to announce that we have found a larger, safer, and more usable space that will allow us to expand our operations and serve you better. However, moving into this new location comes with significant costs, and we need your help to make this dream a reality.

Our Goal: $13,000

We are seeking to raise $13,000 to cover the expenses associated with our move, including:

Security Deposit, First & Last Month’s Rent:

Securing the new space is our first priority to ensure we can begin operating as soon as possible.

Renovation and Improvements:

We want to create a welcoming environment that reflects our passion and brand, which may include new shelving and other essential upgrades.

Supplies and Inventory:

To expand our product offerings and ensure we have the necessary supplies to meet the growing demands of our customers—cages, feeders, etc.—we will need to invest in additional inventory (mantids/oothecas) and equipment (cages).
