Help Sgt. John's Family

Hello, my name is Chloe and I am fundraising for a close friend of mine, Kathrin. A somber afternoon on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Sgt. John Matthew McCutchen lost his battle with PTSD. He is survived by his wife and four beautiful children.

Matt served honorably for 11 years before medically retiring in 2017. During his career he graduated from Infantry, Airborne Infantry, Airborne Assault, and Sniper Schools. He served two tours in Iraq, first as a machine gunner and then as a scout sniper at FOB Apache. He also served one tour in Afghanistan as a vehicle commander in a Cavalry Stryker Brigade. He earned many commendations, but the one he prided most was his Combat Infantry Badge which signified his time spent in active combat.

Throughout his career Matt was stationed many places though none could compare to the one he held closest to his heart, Vilsek, Germany. There, he met Kathrin, the woman who would forever change his life and give him the two titles he prided above all others: husband and father.

I am raising funds to help assist Kathrin with all funeral and childcare expenses as she moves forward in this very difficult time.
