Help SF youth climate organizer attend to UCLA!
Donation protected
UPDATE:
With your help I have raised 1700 through gofundme and around 220 from sticker donations. I wrote an article on climate anxiety for a stipend and put aside money from paychecks. In total I have 2681 for school! My first payment is estimated now to be 2847. I am confident that the remaining 166 will be accounted for! I think* I will need to raise an additional 5700 this school year, but for now I am set. I have also been applying to scholarships and will continue to do all I can to meet my needs.
Thank you everyone for reposting, sending words of encouragement, donating and supporting me to get an education!
Thank you God for taking care of my needs!

Thanks for sending this one to college:)

Hi everyone! I am requesting my community's help and support in attending UCLA this 23-24 school year. I am transferring in from San Jose State University, and will need about $9,000 to attend. More specifically this money will go towards my housing on campus. While I am away from home I will continue to provide rent, utilities, phone bills, internet, and groceries for two immediate family members.
I was born, raised and educated in San Francisco, CA. Since high school I have strived to be meaningfully a part of my community. Some of you might know me from Girls Inc. where I first learned about environmental racism and began to organize. Most of you know me through Youth Vs Apocalypse where I have been organizing at the intersection of climate, race, and class for almost 6 years. For the last two years I have served as YVA's San Francisco Lead building spaces in SF public schools for students coming from low-income communities of color to explore what climate justice means for/to their communities through education and organizing. Additionally, some of you might also know me via Greenaction as I serve as Secretary of the Board, or through the People's Climate Innovation Center as a YCLC fellow. During my time at UCLA I will continue to serve in these capacities and hope to get involved in the Los Angeles community in some aspect.
Through my education at UCLA I will continue to further my ability to serve my community in any way I can, and will continue to serve my community as long as I live and breathe. I am thankful for any support my community has to offer me at this time.
