This fundraiser is to support Seyi. Seyi is a single mother who lives in Abuja Nigeria. On Nov 10, 2019, she was a victim of an armed bandit attack on her way to Lagos from Abuja. The bandits shot into their vehicle, and the bullets hit her in the back. Unfortunately, some of the bullets have since been stuck in her spine. Due to the location of the bullets, doctors are very skeptical about doing a surgery as this could leave her paralyzed for life. She has since been unable to walk without a cane (walking-stick) and is constantly in severe pain. This has made it very difficult for her return to a full-time job and to care for her daughter in the best way.

Recently, Seyi visited a neurosurgeon who gave her 80% chance of a successful surgery. Seyi is very excited at this chance but is limited in her ability to pay for the operation. The surgery will cost N5.75M (about $3,600). Upon a successful surgery, Seyi will need funds for medication, physiotherapy and other post-operation expenses which could exceed N2M (about $1,400).
