Help Sevy Beat Bone Cancer

Donation protected
Our rescue boxer Sevy has been the love of my family's lives for many years now, but after taking him in for a routine teeth cleaning, we've discovered that he has a life-threatening illness. Our vet delivered the heartbreaking news that he found bone cancer in his jaw. By some miracle the cancer has been caught early enough that it hasn’t spread, but to our great despair he quoted the jaw surgery to remove the cancer at $6-10K. Our little man means everything to us and he still has so much life in him. We want to try everything within our power to help him live a long and healthy life.

While my mom, brother Blaise and I collectively care-take Sevy, I want to say something about him personally. Sevy is a rescue boxer who has become my angel, the love of my life, my emotional support animal, and one of the main reasons I have been able to survive having a chronic illness. He licks up all my tears, lies across me for comfort when I’m immobilized, constantly puts a smile on my face, and loves to nap together lazily with his tongue out. He is a quirky little goof and he makes everybody around him laugh. He’s my best friend - he shares joy with everyone who knows him, jumps around when we’re excited, cries when we cry, and sprints around in whatever field he can find like a maniac.

My mom is a school counselor, my brother Blaise is a framer, and I haven’t been able to work more than 10 hours a week since getting long-COVID earlier this year. He has made the precarity and hardship of this year feel more bearable, like there is still hope and joy in the world. The way he approaches life inspires me to be more reverent, playful, appreciative of the small things, and mindful. He still acts like a puppy and he doesn’t even have any of the symptoms of cancer yet because we’ve caught it so early.

We have a biopsy scheduled to figure out what kind of bone cancer Sevy has which will then let us know our treatment options and how much it would all cost. The biopsy alone totals $2200-2400, and we’ve so far spent $900 in vet bills. It’s likely we’ll need to do jaw removal surgery which would be between $6,000-10,000. That’s why we’re asking for your help. Whatever donation you can spare would be incredibly appreciated by Sevy and all of those who love him.

Thank you so, so much!
