Help 1st Place Winners Get to OM World Finals!
Donation protected
Please help our Odyssey of the Mind team raise $20,000 to go to the world finals!
Our Odyssey of the Mind team at Evergreen Community Charter School (Problem 5, Division II) won 1st place in North Carolina as well as a Ranatra Fusca award (which they gave out to two out of ninety-nine teams) and we earned our spot at world finals on May 25-28 held at Iowa State University. Our team of five 6th graders and two 4th graders, coached by Jay Hill (who is a volunteer), has worked extremely hard to get to where we are now. It is our first time being rewarded with worlds and we want more than anything to get the full experience.
What is Odyssey of the Mind?
Odyssey of the Mind (OM) is a worldwide creative problem-solving competition for elementary through high school-aged students. Teams of up to seven people work together to build a long-term solution (create a play with rules and limitations in a few months) and a short-term solution (try to get maximum points; the problem is unknown until seconds before you compete).
How is your donation helping our team?
Since we’re still kids, our families have to pay our travel expenses. Your kind donations will help to pay for gas, food and hotels on the road, registration fees, meal packages, dorms, and a hotel for our families who cannot stay on campus. This isn’t even considering the eight days our parents will be taking off from work. Going to OM worlds has been a dream of ours for the past few years and with your help, we will make it happen.
Your donations are very much appreciated and will help us so much to be able to attend this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Thank you!
