My name is Setrida, and for over a decade, New York has been my home. I moved here in 2011 to study film, and over the years, I built a career and a life I loved. Unfortunately, in 2018, I was diagnosed with Lyme disease, which has left me too disabled to continue my work in the industry I trained for. Since then, I’ve been doing my best to find new opportunities, but it’s been a struggle to find work that properly compensates me, especially with the high cost of living in New York.

After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to move somewhere more affordable so I can have a fresh start and a better quality of life. This move is a big step, and while I’m hopeful for what’s ahead, I need some help to get there. The costs of moving—hiring movers, paying initial apartment fees, covering gas for the long drive, buying packing supplies, and making necessary repairs to my car—are more than I can manage on my own right now. I am planning to move at the end of January 2026, so any support before then will make a huge difference.
