Help Me Protect My Brother's Brain
Last night, my brother Seth got into a bad accident riding his electric scooter.
He hit his head and is suffering from a level 3 concussion.
Seth is neurodivergent, on the Autism Spectrum, and brain injuries such as these are very serious for anyone, and especially need to be monitored and treated for his particular situation.
He luckily has no internal bleeding but is still going to need to see specialists to determine care for traumatic brain injury.
Injuries like these can completely alter a person's mood, mental health state, and neurological functions.
Seth already has his own set of struggles with these aspects of life. I want to do everything in my power to get him the help he needs.
He is only twenty years old and is just getting on his own two feet in life. He often feels lonely and desires to connect to people more deeply. (Which sometimes feels difficult for him)
I'm mentioning this because I was sad to hear him say not to create this fundraiser and that no one would care. ((This highlighted as being an example of his already existent set of psychological struggles.))
But I beg to differ.
Any help at all is helpful and deeply appreciated right now.
Sometimes there just needs to be an invitation.
We all have our unique set of struggles in this life. His tend to cause him to feel alone often.
It's been a difficult time for my whole family, myself included. My mother recently broke part of her leg and had to give up her job, being bedridden for two months, and we are financially preparing to unite my little sister in marriage with her fiancé this coming September. (Yay!)
It's really important to us that Seth gets proper aftercare, including neurologist visits, medical care, and therapy if needed.
His brain is already so delicate and he has healed from a contusion at age 9. Multiple brain injuries are NO JOKE.
Seth is a witty, quirky, hilarious individual that can light up a room when he arrives. He is curious about everything, asks probing questions, and challenges the norms. He is loud and confronting, and often has a very thin filter. He's constantly inspired, and you can always find him idea-generating or songwriting!
Let's help Seth get back on his feet and dancing!
Feel free to reach out to me personally if you have interest in donating that way, or if you'd like to check in on his state❤️
If you've made it this far in the story, thank you for your attention and care.. That helps too.
