Help Seth Get to AMDA's Summer Training Program

Donation protected
Hi there! Me again, gushing auntie of amazing performers...

If you don't already know my dear, Seth. Please meet Seth! Seth (they/them) is an incredible musical theatre performer who is obsessed with all things musical theatre. I watched Seth perform earlier this year in the show Anastasia and I was absolutely blown away by Seth's work on stage. What an incredible voice and presence! Seth has performed in three musicals so far and has auditioned for wider roles outside of school. This young one is talented and will be going places!

After the play, I went back to visit and Seth showed me all their favorite broadway shows, they brought up their favorite musical theatre actors and the shows they've been in - some of which I'd known of, and some who were completely new to me. They played YouTube videos of their performances and shared all of the music they want to learn, sing and perform. Seth even gave me a little concert in the living room. I was impressed with the level of research they had done on musicals of the past and present, the actors, and their journeys. I also loved that Seth already knows which parts they want to play and explore and why. That's the stuff!

Seth has been busy looking for summer high school programs to prepare for the rigorous adventure that is applying to, and auditioning for musical theatre conservatory next year. After a lot of research, Seth applied to AMDA's Summer High School Conservatory program and received an acceptance letter! This is a 14-day program that will land Seth in New York City where they'll go to class all day and experience much of what New York City has to offer in the off-hours including a few Broadway shows. But we need your help!

The program itself costs just under $6000 with room and board, excluding airline tickets. Seth has put his savings toward the tuition and will be working to make additional funds for the program. Seth's mom wants to give her child the best education possible, but living on a teacher's salary in a town that's experiencing huge amounts of inflation has proven to be challenging. She's willing to foot the bill on her credit card, but before making that move, I thought we could come together as a virtual village and see what we can do for Seth and their family to make this a little less stressful.

Would you be willing to make a gift to Seth's future? Taking advantage of this experience will help them stand out when applying to colleges next year and the experience is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! If you're able to make a gift, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! This means the world to not only Seth, but also the family that's standing right behind them and cheering them on. Seth has promised to make updates to this GFM page to share the journey that's ahead and all of the lessons learned after. And if we can raise more than the goal amount, we'll apply additional funds to airfare, the program and more theatre tickets.

If you're not able to make a gift today, that's a-okay! Thanks for reading this far. Please consider sharing this on your social media pages, because every little bit makes a difference. Who knows? Maybe Neil Patrick Harris is reading this right now and wants to help the future of musical theatre rise up and do great things. ;)

Thank you for any support you're able to offer - it takes a village! We'll keep you posted on all the next steps!
