Help Seth Goldman Fulfill his Dream of Visiting Africa
Donation protected
Since childhood, Seth’s passion for wildlife has been unwavering, nurtured by his father’s love for all creatures, great and small. Seth vividly recalls Sunday nights in front of the TV, enraptured by “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” and dreaming of the majestic elephants, giraffes, and rhinos roaming the vast African Savannas. His sister remembers him at three years old, proudly declaring: “I’m going to go there!” Yet, despite a life enriched by travel, Seth’s ultimate dream of venturing into the African savannah has remained unfulfilled.
Seth’s story took an unexpected turn last February 2022 when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, metastasizing into his bones and brain. It was a deep shock to him and his family, as Seth never smoked. Since the diagnosis, he’s endured three grueling rounds of chemotherapy, rigorous immunotherapy treatments every three weeks, and ten consecutive days of full head radiation therapy. He has suffered from debilitating headaches, deep bone and body aches, vision obstructions, general disorientation, frequent falls, and hair loss from the radiation.
Despite everything, Seth has maintained his relentless positivity and optimism—still finding bright moments in the darkness and inspiring his friends and family. Resilience in the face of adversity has always been an overarching theme in Seth’s life. And the biggest flicker of light for him now is the dream of Africa. A safari in Africa represents the culmination of a lifelong passion and is the ultimate testament to Seth’s relentless spirit. For Seth, roaming the African plains, encountering the animals of the savanna, and being immersed in the vibrant tapestry of local cultures transcends pain and mortality.
Planning this trip has been a beacon of hope for Seth these last few months as he continues to fight for his life. As your help and support has allowed plans to moved forward, the tour company, Africa Portfolio, have been able to make adjustments to the Safari that make this trip Handicapped Assessable. Now Seth will be able to actually see the Gorillas in their natural habitat, because he will be carried into the jungle on a litter. Local porters are being hired for this job. When he and David venture out on to the African Plan to see the wild herds, he will be transported on the back of a camel. Smoother then riding in the Range Rovers it seems. Of course theses changes have added some additional expenses to the safari. Here’s where we need you. Seth and David are down to the wire to be able to pay the deposits, park fees and reserve the additional help to assist Seth on the trip. Now is the moment for us to finish this fund raiser and reach the goal. We are a little less then $18,000.00 away, but with the help and support of just a few kind and generous friends and supporters this goal in within reach. When we get 272 more generous souls to donate just $68.00 we will be able to reach our goal in no time. If you have already donated, please consider a little extra to help us over the top.
