Hello friends and good citizens, I’m Setareh and I need a $5,950 miracle right now. Please help me save my car, a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport! I am trying to survive in San Francisco and desperately need a life raft before I completely drown. I’m trying to raise $5,950 to get my car back from impound/repossession.
Here’s the story of how I got in this situation. Crossing the Bay Bridge here costs $8 now, and somehow I owe them $3k. Because of that, they put a hold on my vehicle registration. Because my vehicle registration was out of date, my car got towed by the city of San Francisco/SFMTA before Christmas this year. I have jumped through every hoop since then to get my car back. I’m on a payment plan with Fastrak, I have paid for current registration, I have new insurance, and I’ve paid all the fees. This took time because I don’t make a lot of money, and some documents took more than a week each. I went to the impound to get my car, and I owed $1,650 that I didn’t have. I was able to get a loan to cover that and went back 2 days later to get the car and found out my car loan company repossessed the car that morning! My heart sank! I’ve tried so hard and now I am defeated. This is my first new car, I have put more than $20,000 into the car so far, and it is all I have to show for all of my hard work. It is more than just a car to me; all of my best days have been spent in this car going on adventures with my animals, car camping. This car represents freedom for me. I’m my happiest when I’m driving somewhere on an open road with my animals! Not to mention, I need it to work. Right now, all of my money is going to Ubers to get to work, and I can’t even afford food.
To complicate the situation more, I live in my RV here in SF. Due to the new Mayor's policy, I have to leave SF with my RV by April. My RV needs work and is not drivable. If I have to leave SF and want to keep my job here, I will need my car more than ever to get to work or even escape SF to find a more affordable place to live. This is terrifying as I could end up completely on the street with nothing!
I don’t have family to ask for help, so I am relying on the kind hearts of you all to get my car back asap .
