Our names are Sol & Eunice, and we are Sesame’s parents.
Our sweet chiweenie, Sesame, has been diagnosed with idiopathic chylothorax: a condition where his body can’t properly drain lymph fluid. The fluid builds up in his chest, pressing on his lungs and making it harder and harder for him to breathe.
At first, he needed the fluid drained every two months. Then it became every six weeks. Now, it’s every three weeks. Each time, we watch him struggle, and each time the fluid is removed, he comes right back to his happy, playful, foodie self. It’s a painful cycle of relief and decline. And…
There is hope. There’s a surgery that could stop the fluid from building up and give Sesame a real chance at a healthy life.
But getting here has already cost us everything we had. After extensive testing to rule out conditions like heart disease and cancer, we’ve spent over $10,000 on diagnosis, and another $10,000 on ongoing treatments just to keep him stable. We have exhausted all of our options, medically and financially.
We are trying to raise $7,000 to cover the cost of surgery and post-op care.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our vet, Dr. Edstrom, and support from the Animal Wellness Foundation, we’ve been offered this surgery at a significantly reduced cost. Even so, we need help raising the funds to move forward before it’s too late.
If you’re able to give, we would be deeply grateful. And if you can’t, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Every dollar brings Sesame closer to breathing easily again.
Thank you for supporting our sweet boy. It truly means everything to us.
