Help Service Dog Freddie Save His Family's Home!

Fellow hounds & hoomans, we are in trouble. Our tiny home needs some critical repair… when mama began creating this GFM a few weeks ago it looked like a lot of money and we know times are hard. We hesitated and felt ashamed. But then things got dramatically worse... in the latest episode our atlernator had a manufacturers defect and it is just past the warranty limit so we don't know if we can get any refund on that. The events that unfolded resulted in us spending a sleepless night in a bad section of the city, in sub zero temps, with no power, no heat... and no sense of hope. Mama was terrified. We couldn't go to a hotel and leave our bus to be plundered. She slept in her parka and shoes... she wrapped me in the warmest blankets like any mama does for her baby. She said she could shiver a bit but would understand.. I wouldn't and I'd have cried. So she let me have the best.

Mama has ehlers danlos sydrome and ptsd, that means the dysautonomia aspect of eds causes her to essentially develop intense brain fog when stressed, and eventually just pass out. She suddenly fell over and didn't wake when I kissed her over and over. It was a few hours like that. I was scared, it is my job to help her so I cuddled tight and kept trying to wake her.

If it wasn't for a friend helping us by telling mama exactly what to do Idk where we would be right now. It cost hundreds of dollars to get a tow truck to our mechanic... otherwise we would have been impounded and stuck waiting for repair after the holidays as everyone is booked. The alternator is fixed but it ended up costing ~$1100... and that is on top of the original reasons we started making a GFM.

Our little home is all we have.... our little home and each other.

So, on top of the aternator, which we borrowed money to do, we need a head gasket, exhaust work and some minor stuff to stay safe. Altogether, It is approximately $3000 Canadian or $2108 American. That is with our mechanic... but he can't work outside in the cold now, and we don't fit in his shop. So, we have to go elsewhere and we don't know how much more that will be. But if we can raise our goal, we can make it happen.

This repair is $3000… The average rent price here right now is $2000 and so I’d have to have $2000 for the current month, $2000 for deposit and then both moving expenses & furniture. That would then leave mama with mobility issues and no vehicle. So you can see pretty quickly how keeping our little home is the most viable option at the moment. We’re also seeking new job opps to add to what she can do now... but she is facing shoulder surgery… and THAT is how EDS is. She has a thyroid tumor, one shoulder is subluxed (partially out of socket) with ligaments badly ripped and others torn off... And that doesn't include the destroyed left knee that may eventually cost her that leg. Life with EDS is a challenge but we work onward and upward. My job is to help her as much as I can... I watch over her, listen to her breathing and I bring her stuff she needs.

Keeping going is the best option for us at this time. We have some new prospects on the horizon. A possibility of a good paid internship so paws crossed. for now though... Can you help me keep mama safe by saving our little home on wheels?
