Help Sergio Recover from Brain Surgery
Donation protected
My name is Rocio, I’m Sergio’s sister. I’m raising these funds to help lighten the financial burden and stress that Sergio (and my parents) will have as a result of his brain surgery.
A few days ago I thought I was going to lose my baby brother (more on that below). If you know him, you know this about him: he’s quiet, kind, funny, compassionate, generous with his time and money, and thoughtful. He has served our country as a Marine and is a veteran of the war in Irak. He now serves as a Social Worker in a nursing home in Maryland. He cares deeply about people and animals and he will go to great lengths to help out a friend or family member.
Serg (as many of us call him) recently had to undergo a craniotomy (brain surgery) to treat an aneurysm in his brain. By God’s grace, the skillful hands of an amazing neurosurgeon, and the powerful prayers & positive thoughts of so many of you, his 5 hour surgery was a success! And my Mom, Dad, Sister, and I were finally able to breathe again. We’ve been told that his road to recovery will take some time, but we are hopeful that he will make a full recovery.
Here’s where you come in: As you can imagine, Serg will have a bunch of medical bills that won’t be fully covered by insurance, and although he is on his way to recovery, we anticipate for that journey to take some time. The current plan in place is that once he comes out of the hospital, he will stay with my parents until he’s well enough to go back to his house and get back to work. This is why we are asking for your help.
On behalf of my parents, Luis & Carolina, and my sister, María Elena & I, thank you!
PS. Please continue to keep him (and us) in your thoughts and prayers.
