We are seeking your support for Golden Beach Sergeant Joseph Bautista, who was shot in the line of duty during a pursuit of two suspects in a stolen vehicle in the early morning of April 29th. As a result of the serious injuries to his arm and shoulder he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. The funds raised from this GoFundMe campaign will go towards supporting his family, which includes two young children, as they navigate through this difficult time and other expenses that they may incur.

Sergeant Bautista has served with the Golden Beach Police Department for ten years, putting his life on the line each day to protect our community. On the night of the incident, he was responding to a call for assistance from the Sunny Isle Police Department when he was shot twice in the arm while chasing the suspects on foot. We are fortunate that his injuries are not life-threatening, but serious and he is in stable condition after undergoing surgery at Memorial Regional Hospital.
